Yesterday I was re-reading my favorite book The Five People You Meet in Heaven to pass Valentines Day. As I was reading, I came across a quote about love, and I think that it really hit's home in a lot of ways. Granted, Valentine's Day is passed, but the words won't mean any less. The speaker is the main character, Eddie's wife when he meets her in heaven. Eddie asked her why she had to die years before him and she replies with a heartfelt answer.
"Lost love is still love, Eddie. It takes a different form, that's all. You can't bring them food or tousle their hair or move them around a dance floor. But when those senses weaken, another heightens. Memory. Memory becomes your partner. You nurture it. You hold it. You dance with it. Life has to end. Love doesn't."
Yeah that book is the shiznit and I highly recomment it. Mitch Absolm's interpretation of heaven is unlike any other you will ever discover. Even if you don't believe in heaven you'll enjoy it. Go to your local book store, buy it, read it, love it, re-read it over and over. Now march.
